Science
Students develop a strong foundation in earth, life, and physical sciences through a wide variety of activities and materials. We have implemented the inquire-based Full Option Science System (FOSS) science curriculum developed at U.C. Berkeley, supplemented with teacher-developed units. These hands-on activites stimulate scientific awareness and develop conceptual understanding. Students think as scientists as they investigate, experiment, gather data, organize results and draw conclusions. Students use oral and written communication skills, and problem solving strategies to find answers.
Carden Conejo has two specialist teachers who teach science: Mrs. Amy Stone teaches students in Kindergarten – 3rd Grade, and Mrs. Lisa Macias-Flavin teaches students in 4th – 8th Grade.
