

Students have the opportunity to participate in field trips that provide an exciting educational experience as an extension of their academic studies.
Eighth grade students spend two weeks in Europe touring England, France and Italy. Their classroom history and art appreciation lessons come alive during this exciting time. They enjoy soaking up the local culture and practicing their spoken French.
Seventh grade students tour Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area for a week seeped in American history. Their visits to the Capitol building, the Smithsonian Museums, and Arlington National Cemetery are highlights.
Sixth grade students spend five days in the curriculum-based education program at the Catalina Island Marine Institute. They learn about California’s diverse eco-systems while hiking, kayaking, and snorkeling.
Fifth grade students travel back in time when they spend the night at Dana Point on the “Pilgrim” tall ship. They experience the life of a sailor in the 1830s, swabbing the decks, keeping night watch and sleeping in berths. The re-enact the indentured service of Richard Henry Dana that they study in, Two Years Before the Mast.
Fourth grade students go on a two-day trip to Sacramento and gold rush country. The group pans for gold and camps overnight near the American River. They learn about life during the time of the California Gold Rush. They also visit California’s state Capitol building, tour Old Sacramento, and visit the historic railroad museum.
Third grade students spend the day at the La Brea Tar Pits. They see the fossilized remains of prehistoric animals such as the Mastodon, the Saber-Toothed Cat, and the Mammoth. The students imagine life the Los Angeles area 25,000 years ago.
Second grade students travel by ferry for a special day trip through the Santa Barbara channel to Anacapa Island. Students have the opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural habitat, such as sea gulls, dolphins, whales, and sea lions.
First grade students travel by bus for a special day at the Santa Barbara Zoo. Our Kindergarten students spend the morning at the pumpkin patch.
